Last night I went up to Timberline Lodge to capture some interior shots of the amazing craftsmanship and a great sunset shot of the summit.
As I was taking my summit images, I realized that the vantage point from just above Timberline Lodge did not provide too much great light of the sunset. I really wanted to be a bit farther Northwest. That said, I was able to get this nice light on the rim just to the right of Crater Rock.
The sky was a bit hazy, so this isn't as sharp an image as I would have liked. I guess I should buy a UV filter for my 80-200.
Another possible issue for sharpness is camera movement, maybe I need a shutter release?

Lane, with as much as you've invested in your equipment, you should have purchased a remote release a long time ago. For shame! Go out today and pick one up, or beware the wrath of the mighty camera gods!
